Here is District 4's Marketing Mantra :

Every member of a Toastmasters club is important.
Every club should have at least 20 members.
Every Area should aim to add a new club.

Hum it, sing it, absorb it, get yourself into a trance about it. It may not rhyme but it makes sense. To keep our club meetings lively and educational, we need to continuously focus on membership growth and add new members to the club. To keep experienced members engaged, we need to provide opportunities that add new facets to their leadership development. As Lt. Governor Marketing, it is my privilege to serve the talented Toastmasters and potential members of this diverse District.

The 'Million Dollar Marketing Team' (they really are worth a million bucks) is dedicated to enhancing your club experience. To retain existing members, bring to their attention the opportunities to lead outside the club that also help them progress along the leadership track. Specifically:
  • Coach a club with less than 12 members
  • Mentor a new club for 6 - 12 months
  • Sponsor a new club and help it charter
  • Complete a High Performance Leadership (HPL) project by signing up to be a Club Fitness Leader
  • Visit clubs in the District as a Club Ambassador and see how other clubs operate (and win yourself cool pins in the process)
Being a Coach, Mentor or Sponsor and completing a HPL fulfills some requirements for the Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) award. Engage your members in running Youth Leadership Programs to make an impact on young leaders. Develop the team spirit by motivating members to put up Open Houses to recruit new members or by executing a strategy to win the TI Membership Contests. Get energized by being a member of a New Club Demo team or come up with your own idea for a new club. When they say that 'you can never get out of Toastmasters' - they weren't kidding!

My vision is 20/20. When we see every club renew at least 20 members before October 1 2012 and at least another 20 members before April 1 2013, we will know that the club is on track to be Distinguished and the needs of each member are being met. When we add 20 new clubs in the first six months of the Toastmasters program year to the District and then another 20 new clubs in the last six months, we will contribute meaningfully to the development of the people in the District we reside in. Join me, the Million Dollar Marketing team and the District officers in this vision and let's watch ourselves and our colleagues grow.

Go on, hum that Marketing Mantra one more time...
